My client is a thriving business that has become an industry leader within the IT sector. They have been operating for over 15 years, employ over 250 staff and have annual revenues in the multi millions. Due to continued expansion they are now looking to recruit a Credit Controller to join their team based in Harrogate. Their office is Covid secure.


Role responsibilities:

  • Prepare credit applications and fraud checks as per company policy
  • Manage and release credit holds in coordination with the Credit Manager, Finance Manager and Sales Account Managers
  • Resolve customer queries and issues
  • Proactively chase outstanding debt via telephone and e-mail for all global customers
  • Allocate cash and merchant transactions
  • Review and clear overpayments
  • Reconcile statements with customers
  • Identify opportunities to improve department systems and performance
  • Develop processes to improve effectiveness of department
  • Other ad-hoc duties as and when required


Essential requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Credit Controller position
  • Good knowledge of end-to-end Accounts Receivable processes
  • Knowledge and usage of credit referencing databases (Creditsafe, D&B etc)
  • Good attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate improvement in collection performance in previous roles
  • Able to operate clear and systematic processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organised with good Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience in IT or similar industry (e.g. FMCG)
  • Accounting qualification e.g AAT would be desirable but not essential


What’s on offer:

  • Competitive salary depending on experience, ranging from £22,000 to £30,000 per annum (pro rata if working part-time)
  • Full-time and part-time days available
  • Office working hours, Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm with 1 hour for lunch. Part-time days also available
